Brigitte HeuserBrigitte Heuser is a Mezzo Soprano from Wellington, New Zealand. Brigitte holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Otago (majoring in Film and Media Studies) and a Bachelor of Music (Hons, 1st Class) from the New Zealand School of Music. In 2007 Brigitte took up a full scholarship at the Australian Opera Studio and graduated from their Emerging Performer Programme in 2008 with Merit.
Brigitte returned to New Zealand in 2009 to take up a contract as a PwC Dame Malvina Major Emerging Artist with New Zeland Opera for 2009/10. During her time in New Zealand Brigitte was chosen as the Circle 100 Scholar 2010 by the New Zealand Opera Guild. In July 2010 Brigitte took part in the Britten-Pears Young Artist Programme in Aldeburgh, UK: Mozart Scenes with Claudio Desderi. Brigitte’s operatic performances include Hänsel, Hänsel und Gretel (Humperdinck); Cherubino, Le Nozze di Figaro; Annio, La Clemenza di Tito; Idamante, Idomeneo (Mozart); The Mother, Mavra (Stravinsky); Aloes, L’Etoile (Chabrier); Jenny Diver, Threepenny Opera (Weill), Susan, The Genteel Pigeons (Drummond), and Olga, Eugene Onegin (Tchaikovsky). Brigitte’s concert performance experience includes Mozart’s Requiem, Vivaldi’s Magnificat and Gloria.Brigitte is currently based between Cardiff and London studying with Dennis O’Neill at the Wales International Academy of Voice. |
Lauren EastonLauren Easton is a Mezzo Soprano from Sydney, Australia. Throughout her younger years, she was privileged to participate in engagements with the Australian Opera Children’s Chorus, Gondwana Voices and the Sydney Children’s Choir, Sydney School Singers, various state and national music festivals, and tours representing the Olympic Arts Festival in the United States. Lauren was awarded the Sony Foundation Music Scholarship for 2001 in conjunction with the University of New South Wales school of Music. Lauren teamed Argentinean pianist Andrea Katz in 2008 to compete in the Mietta Song Recital Awards in Melbourne. The pair were awarded the Nino Sanciolo Memorial Scholarship, Audience Choice and the ABC Classic FM Recording prize. Throughout 2008 and 2009 Lauren was the full-time Mezzo-Soprano for the Song Company, Australia's premier 6 voice vocal ensemble, performing extensively within Australia and internationally. In September of 2009 the group toured to Belgium where they were featured guests of the Festival van Vlaanderen in Gent. Following this tour Lauren began her studies with Dennis O'Neill at the Cardiff International Academy of Voice as a full scholarship recipient from the Australian International Opera Awards. In August 2010 Lauren was the Mezzo soloist for the Beethoven 9th Symphony, performed at the World Expo in Shanghai, China. This year Lauren began her first contract with the Glyndebourne Festival Opera Chorus as a chorister and cover, making her stage debut as Magdelena in their new production of Die Meistersinger Von Nürnberg on June 10th. Qian FuYoung Chinese Mezzo Soprano Qian Fu already has wide experience singing internationally in a variety of enues. In recent times, she participated in masterclasses with Teresa Berganza, Grace Bumbury and José Van Dam for the 2011 voice master classes of the Queen Elisabeth Competition in Belgium. The Solti Te Kanawa
Academia di Bel Canto in Italy in 2010. She has also received masterclasses with Richard Bonynge, Dame Kiri Te Kanawa, Montserrat Caballé, Francisco Araíza, Jessye Norman and Patricia Bardon. She was a finalist in the NEUE STIMME International Singing Competition in German in 2007, the Hans Gabor Belvedere International Singing Competition in Vienna in 2009 and awarded Grabowsky Connell Prize, the G Embley Memorial Prize of the RAM. Her opera and opera scene performances have included the role of Celia in Haydn’sLa fedeltà premiata, Juno in Handel’s Semele, Alinda in Cavalli’s Giasone, Third Lady in Die Zauberflöte, and the title role in La Cenerentola, Sesto in Giulio Cesare, Irena in Tamerlano, Suzuki in Madama Butterfly, Rosina in Rossini’s Il Barbiere di Siviglia, Maddalenain Rigoletto. In 2010, with a distinction Qian Fu graduated from the Opera department of the Royal Academy of Music for the Master of Arts degree, where she studied with Glenville Hargreaves and Iain Ledingham. On entry to the Academy Qian was awarded a Kohn Foundation Vocal Scholarship, a Nora Seary Award and a Lucille Graham Scholarship. |
Sian CameronWelsh Mezzo Soprano Sian Cameron recently completed her studies at the Royal Academy of Music with Anne Howells and Audrey Hyland, where she was given the John Lewis Award, The Warne award and an HRH the Prince of Wales advanced study award in Music by the Arts Council of Wales. She is also a Britten-Pears scholar. Siân previously studied at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama where she was awarded the Dolan Evans memorial prize.
Operatic roles include, Animal roles in The Merman King (Welsh National Opera), Dorothy in workshops for The Sandman by Laura Bowler (ROH2), Tisbe in Cenerentola and Zerlina in Don Giovanni (OperaUpClose), Carry-Ann in The Imposter (Live Music Now Ireland) Second lady in The Magic Flute (Hampstead Garden Opera), the title role in Mignon by Thomas, Hermia in Britten’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Dido (Dido and Aeneas), Emmie (Albert Herring), Woodpecker and Pepik (The Cunning Little Vixen) and Phyllis (Cover) in Iolanthe (Carl Rosa Opera). Last summer she sang a role in Trains of thought by Laura Bowler at the Tete a tete festival and performed with the Estonian ensemble, Resonabilis at the Vale of Glamorgan festival, Tallinn and Helsinki. She is an artist on the Live Music Now! scheme with Two’s Company and is also a free-lance vocal animateur, doing numerous projects for Welsh National Opera’s MAX department.
